Kernel Metallic Magic
Design
Every kernel holds something precious within its shell. Here, the shell is a frame of gold and the kernel a mirror of silver: two metals that aren’t supposed to mix, holding each other in perfect balance. The shape is entirely new, irregular yet harmonious, inspired by vintage glass yet unmistakably of today.
Construction
Two layers of reflection meet but never merge. The hand-cut glass rests above its mirrored frame, and a fine line of shadow between them lets the centre seem to hover. No fixings break the surface, only light, held in place.
Colour
Warm gold around cool silver. The gold brings the glow, the silver brings the clarity: a bright, luminous pairing that catches the daylight and gives it back to the room.Metallic Magic pairs a silver mirror with an edgeless gold frame: two metals that don't usually sit together, each catching the light in its own way. I like the tension between them: cool and warm in the same object, neither one winning.
